Using a sheet pan to cook Perfect Sheet Pan Oven Bacon

  1. It is best to invest in a heavy-duty sheet pan that will not warp at higher heats. I have used the cheaper pans and they work. But the heavy-duty ones will not warp and cook more evenly.
  2. Lining the sheet pan with parchment paper saves on clean-up. Which my husband Pat appreciates as he usually does the dishes. This time I did not line my pan when cooking this batch, I bet my husband wishes I did!

You need to check on the bacon you are making to make sure it does not burn. Different oven temperatures along with different thickness of bacons on the market, makes it impossible to give an exact time. Just check the bacon as it is cooking until it is golden brown. I do not flip the bacon.
  • Fifth- Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel lined plate to drain any excess grease.

How to Save the Rendered Bacon Fat?

Wait until the bacon fat has cooled but is still liquid. Pour though a fine mess sieve lined with a piece of cheesecloth or thin paper towel into a glass storage container. I like to use glass mason jelly jar for storing my rendered bacon fat. Store in the refrigerator.
