Can I Substitute Ingredients?

Yes, to make it a bit lighter in fat you can use fat free Mayo, vinegar, I have use red or white wine vinegars, also I have used apple cider vinegar. As mentioned above, the bagged real bacon in the bag works well. Any shredded cheese can work depending on the favor you are going for. I have used grated pepper jack cheese. It added a nice spice level to this recipe. Nut allergies or don’t like them just leave them out.

Storage of Broccoli Salad

Once made store in a sealed container in the refrigerator. If not serving till the next day, assemble everything in a bowl and seal except the dressing and store it in a separate container. Mix together an hour before serving. Leftovers with the dressing added will keep a couple days, some ingredients will be a bit soggy, but it is still good. Do not freeze.
