Delicious quick lunch, dinner or appetizer for a gathering. These yummy Cuban ham sliders only took me approx. 40 minuities start to finish using ham from a food prep day. I will link to the post how I take a smoked ham and prep that ham for 22 meals. Now for this recipe you certainly can use deli ham, I would stick to a black forest ham or honey baked ham would add a nice, sweet touch to these sliders. Hey, it your kitchen use what is on hand or on sale.

Ingredients Needed for Cuban Ham Sliders

  • 1- 12 pack, Hawaiian Rolls, these little sweet rolls add a special tingle to the taste buds.
  • 1/2 Lb. Sliced Ham, I used sliced ham from a smoked ham that I cut and prepped for approx. 22 quick meals. You can certainly use a deli ham you have on hand. Suggestions would be black forest ham or honey ham cut thin.
  • 6 slices- Swiss Cheese
  • 24 Dill Pickles- depends on the size just make a layer.
  • Dijon mustard- 4 Tbsp.
  • Onion, 2Tbsp.- I used finely chopped red onion, any onion will work beautifully or dried minced onions from the spice isle.
  • Unsalted butter -1 stick

Cuban Ham Sliders are going to come together very quickly, so let’s get started.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F degrees.
  2. Spray a 9 X 13 baking pan with non-stick spray.
  3. Remove your Hawaiian rolls and place on your cutting board using a serrated knife slice the entire pack of buns in half removing the top and placing the bottom of the rolls in the baking pan.
  4. Layer the ham, swiss cheese and dill pickle on the bottom layers of buns.
  5. Now place your top layer of buns on top of the ham, cheese and pickles.
  6. Melt the stick of unsalted butter and whisk in the onion and Dijon mustard and whisk together and pour evenly over the bun tops, if you need to, take a pastry brush over the tops to evenly spread the mixture.
  7. Now pop them in the preheated oven and set the timer for 20 minutes.
  8. When the timer goes off, take you finished Cuban ham sliders out of the oven and serve.
